Reaching and Teaching Appoints
Ryan Robertson as President
Louisville, Kentucky— April 23, 2020 — Reaching and Teaching International Ministries (“Reaching and Teaching” or the “Organization”) has appointed Ryan Robertson as the new President of the Organization.
Robertson previously held the position of Director of Mobilization and Development in Reaching and Teaching, has served in executive leadership positions for public companies and other non-profit organizations, and has been a board member of several different charities. In 2014, he obtained his CPA from the State of Massachusetts. Robertson is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Missiology program at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ryan and his wife Erin have three children and are members of Third Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.
“We are very excited to appoint Ryan Robertson as our new President,” stated Jason Glas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Reaching and Teaching. “Ryan is no stranger to Reaching & Teaching having served in our organization for some time and has the internal respect of our staff and missionaries to provide immediate and effective leadership. We are excited to promote an individual from within who understands the distinct missiological and theological convictions of our Organization. His international experience as an executive in the for-profit marketplace as well as in various charities brings the proficiency necessary to steadily navigate our team through uncharted waters in the days ahead, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and he possesses the leadership, passion, and vision required to lead the Organization forward in the years ahead.”
“I am honored to have been asked to lead our extraordinary global team,” stated Robertson. “I believe Reaching & Teaching is unique in the global missions landscape because of its missiological, ecclesiological, and theological convictions. I’m excited to work with our missionaries, staff, and board.”
Robertson is taking over from John Klaassen, who has served as President since July 2019 and will continue to teach on faculty at Boyce College and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in the areas of missions and global studies. “The Board of Directors would like to thank John for his service over the last nine months and we wish him the best in his future endeavors. We would also like to note that John’s departure was not related to any occurrence of moral failure. Reaching and Teaching continues to be committed to making mature disciples, establishing healthy churches, and training local leaders around the world,” Glas stated.
