Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere and among the poorest in the world, having experienced earthquakes and hurricanes in recent years that have devastated the population. Physical and financial poverty in Haiti is a reflection of vast spiritual poverty that also exists. This island nation lies at the western end of the island of Hispaniola and is easily reachable by a short flight from the United States.
The training at Port-au-Prince is a strategic opportunity to equip pastors and leaders in the nation of Haiti. The Lord is moving to strengthen and embolden His church in Haiti in spite of the challenges. Pastors are hungry for training that will help them combat the enemies of sound doctrine such as animistic religions and distortions of Christianity. The site in Port-au-Prince attracts pastors and leaders from Haiti’s “back country.” These pastors have little access to theological training and are eager to impact their nation for Christ.
