Jaigaon lies on the border between Bhutan and India. A gate within the city serves as the port of entry between the two countries. Bhutanese pass through this gate and use Indian roads to get to other areas of Bhutan not accessible by highway within that country.
Reaching & Teaching is excited about the opportunity to begin this training project—the first for us on the continent of Asia. The training at Jaigaon has the potential of impacting more than 40 pastors and leaders who have had little opportunity to receive theological training. The pastors who will be attending are Nepali speaking from Bhutan and that region of India. The training will be translated into the Nepali language. It is extremely difficult to train within the country of Bhutan, but Bhutanese leaders can easily travel to Jaigaon to receive this training providing a tremendous opportunity for Reaching & Teaching and partnering churches.
Travel & Accomodations
Teams will fly from the U. S. through Delhi or Kolkata airports to Bagdogra airport. They will then travel about four hours in a missionary vehicle to arrive in Jaigaon. Teams will be housed in a hotel during the training week.
Reaching & Teaching is seeking a likeminded partnering church that will send qualified teachers to this location 1 to 3 times per year for the duration of the 3-year training program. Learn more about church partnerships by following the link below.About Church Partnerships
