Puerto Maldonado, Peru
September 2, 2017 - September 9, 2017
Total trip cost: $2400
Puerto Maldonado lies in the Amazon Basin of Peru near Peru’s border with Bolivia and Brazil. It lies at the confluence of the Tambopata and Madre de Dios Rivers and is the capital of the Madre de Dios Region. The training at Puerto Maldonado is a strategic opportunity to equip pastors and leaders in the southern Amazon rainforest region of Peru. Among indigenous groups in the region are Quechua and Aymara. Few of the pastors in this region have any type of theological training.
Reaching & Teaching is seeking like-minded partnering churches that will send qualified teachers to Puerto Maldonado 1-3 times per year for the duration of the three-year training program.
Those who participate on this trip will teach an overview of the Old Testament, give instruction on the spiritual discipline of Bible Intake and God's Call to Ministry.
All team members are expected to procure a copy of: "Hearts, Heads, and Hands: A Manual for Training Others to Train Others" and have read: "Foreign to Familiar: A Guide to Understanding Hot - And Cold - Climate Cultures."
