Port-au-Prince, Haiti

July 16, 2017 - July 22, 2017

Total trip cost: $1600

The poorest country in the Western hemisphere, Haiti faces many barriers to social, economic, and political development. Though many nationals consider themselves Christians, there is a significant lack of gospel-centered preaching and discipleship. The country’s voodoo roots run deep, and many professing Christians engage in some form of voodoo worship yet today.

Since the massive earthquake in 2010, there has been a groundswell of interest in local churches working together in order to reach their country with the gospel of Jesus Christ. One of the church’s greatest needs in Haiti is theological training for the hundreds pastors in the outer-lying regions of the country who have little to no access to theological resources.

In an exciting partnership with a nation-wide network of churches, Reaching and Teaching is able to launch our first training site in Port-au-Prince. This opportunity will be the first of its kind in the country: one which specifically targets rural pastors with the formal and comprehensive training they so desperately need.

This project site is a ministry of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Plainview, Minnesota. For information about this site and to inquire about serving on a short-term trip here, please email [email protected] prior to completing online application.

Those who participate on this trip will teach a course on hermeneutics, the spiritual discipline of serving, and developing leaders.

All team members are expected to procure a copy of: "Hearts, Heads, and Hands: A Manual for Training Others to Train Others" and have read: "Foreign to Familiar: A Guide to Understanding Hot - And Cold - Climate Cultures."

We're sorry, applications for this trip have closed.
