June 7, 2017 - June 14, 2017
Total trip cost: $1800
This strategic training opportunity is situated at the edge of the Ecuadorian jungle, where leaders come from within the jungle to be trained in the truths of God's Word. Most of our students are Shuar indigenous people, with a few lowland Quichuas as well. The majority of the mission stations established through the years out in the jungle areas have been abandoned as missionaries retired or relocated. It's estimated that over 90% are completely closed down now and the indigenous people are returning to traditional ways. Those participating on trips to Macas will have the opportunity to strengthen the represented churches for the gospel's advance throughout the jungle.
This site is a ministry of Covenant Baptist Church in Valdosta, GA. For information about this site and to inquire about serving on a short-term trip here, please email [email protected] prior to completing online application.
Participants on this trip will teach a course on Missions, Evangelism and Church Planting as well as on the spiritual discipline of evangelism, along with instruction about mentoring men.
All team members are expected to procure a copy of - Hearts, Heads, and Hands: a Manual for Training Others to Train Others, and have read - Foreign to Familiar: A Guide to Understanding Hot - And Cold - Climate Cultures. Because Reaching & Teaching does not ship these resources, we do not adjust the trip cost to account for purchasing them.
