Belize City, Belize
November 11, 2017 - November 18, 2017
Total trip cost: $1600
Belize is a small English-speaking nation that lies in the midst of the Spanish-speaking nations of Central America. It borders the Caribbean Sea to the east, Mexico to the north, and Guatemala to the west and south. Before gaining independence from Great Britain, it was a colony known as British Honduras. The training at Belize City is a strategic opportunity to equip pastors and leaders in the nation of Belize. It is expected that teams will have the opportunity to train 25-30 pastors and leaders in a training venue in the Baptist Resource Center in Belize City. The project site is expected to draw English speaking students potentially including some from among Maya and Garifuna indigenous groups.
Reaching & Teaching is seeking like-minded partnering churches that will send qualified teachers to Belize City 1 to 3 times per year for the duration of the 3-year training program.
Those who participate on this trip will teach an overview of the New Testament, give instruction on the spiritual discipline of Prayer and The Pastor's Character.
All team members are expected to procure a copy of: "Hearts, Heads, and Hands: A Manual for Training Others to Train Others" and have read: "Foreign to Familiar: A Guide to Understanding Hot - And Cold - Climate Cultures."
