Ministry Locations

All of God's people going into all the world faithfully obeying all of the Great Commission

Ecuador

Located on the Northwest Coast of South America, the Republic of Ecuador is a diverse land with just as much diversity of ministry needs. Between the majority mestizo population and the vast number of indigenous peoples, one common theme is found- the need for a clear and complete presentation of the Gospel to be followed by intentional discipleship and leadership development. Reaching & Teaching seeks to meet these needs through frequent short-term trips in conjunction with several other ministries as well as through Reaching & Teaching specific trips. Particular attention and focus is given to developing discipleship and training programs that are culturally appropriate for preliterate peoples. Frequent opportunities exist for individuals interested in participating in short term trips to offer training and discipleship for indigenous church leaders. Contact us for additional information if you are interested in participating in a trip with Reaching & Teaching.

Peru

Located on the Western Cost of South America, Peru is a country ripe with historical and cultural significance, as is its northern neighbor, Ecuador. In fact, the two share many common linguistic and cultural realities. Tensions and difficulties between the mestizo population and the indigenous groups, political and socioeconomic difficulties, and educational challenges are all a part of life and ministry in Peru. The deep need for discipleship and theological education is also a need in Peru. As such, Reaching & Teaching provides both short-term missions training for Peru as well as indigenous leadership development courses. Partnership is cultivated with a key national church leader in an unreached are of the country. Opportunities exist for individuals interested in participating in short term trips to offer training and discipleship for indigenous church leaders. Mexico

The southern neighbor to the USA may be the most frequented location for short-term mission trips from churches in the USA and there are thriving Mexican churches with which we can partner and serve. Yet, the Mexican Church has been attacked by those seeking to instill aberrant theology. As such, the need for biblical education and pastoral preparation is absolutely essential. The Lord is raising up many in Mexico who desire to study and prepare to be faithful ministers of the Gospel, but there are simply not enough qualified teachers and trainers to teach and train those who desire to learn. Reaching & Teaching seeks to meet this need, sending professors to teach in conjunction with Seminario Teológico Bautista Mexicano. If you are interested in providing theological education in Latin America, please contact us for more information on how you might be able to be involved in the ministry of Reaching & Teaching.

Peru

Dr. David Sills regularly teachings in conjunction with the summer missionaries serving in conjunction with the REAP South Program throughout Peru. In addition to the training session, teams are regularly sent to further an existing church plant and training program in a very small community. These trips include training and discipleship for the Peruvian believers as well as vision and prayer for new potential ministry locations. Reports and testimonies from previous trips to Peru can be found by reading some of Dr. Sills' blog posts on Peru.

Mexico

The Seminario Teológico Bautista Mexicano has a thriving ministry and eager students. The existing need is for additional faculty and expanded course offerings. As such, Dr. Sills travels to Mexico at least once each year to teach week long intensive courses on cultural anthropology, contextualization, and other missiological topics. Those who are in doctrinal agreement, have academic credentials, and a willingness to volunteer their time to teach and train the next generation of Mexican church leaders may be able to partner with Reaching & Teaching and STBM to provide a week-long intensive course. Additionally, posts related to Mexico can be found on Dr. Sills blog.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a very significant location for ministry throughout Latin America as it serves as the location where many missionaries receive their language training. The influence of the collective group of future missionaries at any given time is significant. In partnership with the key Spanish language school of Central America, Dr. Sills often leads the Spiritual Emphasis Week and interacts with missionaries as they prepare for serving in the countries to which they have been called. Please contact us should you have questions about ministry in Costa Rica or the Spanish Language Institute. Posts related to Costa Rica can be found on Dr. Sills' blog.
