Many of the pastor-students whom we teach come to the training at great personal sacrifice. For instance, at our jungle location in the interior of Peru, some of the students from remote tribes travel 4-5 days by boat and on foot to attend, raising funds as they travel to pay high prices for gasoline in these isolated regions. At our Andes location in Ecuador, some of the men walk for hours to the nearest highway, only to then travel several hours by bus to the training location.
The Pastors Travel Fund will offset the travel expenses for the brothers who can most benefit from the assistance. Again, we don’t fully cover students’ travel costs because we believe that they will have a greater commitment level if there is an expense involved. Yet, we want to help them in appropriate ways using the resources the Lord has given us.
