The Reaching & Teaching Director of Short-term Ministry will provide leadership, facilitation, and execution of Reaching & Teaching’s short-term team ministry. The position is based in the United States and requires participation in a Reaching & Teaching short-term mission trip each year.


Team Development

  • Ensure that each trip has sufficient team members
  • Provide exemplary communication for all team members
  • Coordinate pre-trip orientation and post-trip debrief with each team
  • Work with church partners as applicable
  • Delegate responsibilities as needed


  • Oversee logistics (travel, lodging, interpreters, etc) for all short-term teams
  • Create or improve systems for overseeing short-term team logistics
  • Ensure each training site has appropriate resources and materials

Field Partner Relations

  • Work with field partner for each training site
  • Ensure each training site operates within RTIM theological and missiological parameters
  • Monitor field conditions to ensure team safety and effectiveness
  • Promote and encourage new training sites as appropriate


  • Mature disciple of Jesus Christ
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (preferred)
  • 2-3 years ministry experience
  • Attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and highly organized
  • Adept multi-tasker
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Cross-cultural experience (preferred)


  • Participation in one Reaching & Teaching short-term mission trip per year to train pastors in modular course settings
  • Domestic travel as required by agency leadership

As an inter-denominational organization we minister from a foundational base of doctrines that capture mainstream evangelical theology. These statements of belief are included and should be reviewed. In the specified location, please note which document most closely reflects your convictions. Submission of the application material with this information noted indicates your affirmation of the doctrinal statement you indicate and your agreement to serve wholly in accordance with it while on staff with Reaching and Teaching International Ministries. Additionally, you must agree to the Nashville Statement.

    Virtual Office

    Reaching & Teaching has a decentralized home office, such that staff members are free to live at the location of their choice.


    Compensation will be designated upon hire and is based upon the position and the candidate’s ministry experience. All staff members are responsible for raising their full financial support package, which includes a monthly service fee for employment overhead (7% of receipts or $400/month, whichever is higher).
