Major City, Southeast Asia
The missionary who serves in this role will enjoy a tropical climate. There is a great need in this city for an ex-patriot church that is healthy in doctrine and practice. A missionary to this city would have the opportunity to plant and pastor such a church, with the goal of evangelizing and discipling nationals.
If God blesses this ministry, then national believers will emerge or be birthed, who would then be coached through solid discipleship materials, many already in place. For those who complete this first stage, a second stage would include a more rigorous training, although still non-formal in nature. A central ministry goal is the training and equipping of national leaders who will then plant and pastor healthy churches. This vision is a long-term project.
The ideal candidate will be a proven disciple of Christ who has modeled faithfulness to God’s Word by living it out, teaching it in individual and group settings in the local church, and studying how to rightly divide it in a Bible college or seminary. He will also have experience working independently, but within a system that serves multiple individuals and ministries.
