Belém is the capital and largest city the in the state of Pará in the north of Brazil. This strategically located city is the entrance to the Amazon River and is home to a busy port. With 2.2M people, it is the 11th most populous city and was the first Europeon colony of the Amazon. The city is also home to impressive modern shopping areas and commerce.
It’s geographical location coupled with its role in the areas commerce will enable the missionary who serves in this location to be strategically positioned to have a deep impact among the pastors in the remote Amazon areas as well as the more modern pockets of the region as he establishes pastoral training centers in the Amazon basin area, developing and expanding our training ministries and partnerships in Altamira and Belém.
The ideal candidate will be a proven disciple of Christ who has modeled faithfulness to God’s Word by living it out, teaching it in individual and group settings in the local church, and studying how to rightly divide it in Bible college or seminary. He will also have experience working independently, but within a system that serves multiple individuals and ministries.
